Past informs the present
This installation has been imagined and contextualized within a square space, of 25 feet length and breadth, and a height of 12 feet - a space that has no source of natural light, or view of what is outside except the door where you enter from. The installation has in it 6 pillars of different diameters, each made with a print of a landscape image on fabric, stretched onto an armature. A large scale projection falls on one corner of the room, casting an image over three planes, as well as two of the pillars. The silent projection, which is of trees swinging in the wind, is fragmented by a strip of mirror that leans against the wall, casting a reflection on the wall and ceiling across from it. The only light in the room, apart from the projection, is of a long lightbox, tilted against the wall on one side.
