PICTURE PILLARS

This work attempts to blur the boundaries between image and object, this series is of photographic images printed digitally on cloth, which is stretched onto a cylindrical armature. Each pillar pretends to be a structural element, but its materiality doesn’t allow it to hold up any weight, and it has no strength of its own.

Scaled up to evoke the scale of an actual landscape, and at the same time taking the form of an architectural structure - a pillar from floor to ceiling - these works function as both standalone sculptural forms, as well as elements in my installations.
